American City Business Journals Selects Burke Communications to Launch Subscriber Marketing Program
August 6, 2010

CHARLOTTE, NC - American City Business Journals has selected Burke Communications through a competitive bidding process to design and implement a nationwide subscriber referral mareting program.

American City Business Journals is the largest publisher of metropolitan business newsweeklies in the United States, with 40 business journals across the country, including the Charlotte Business Journal, and several sports industry newspapers.

The campaign will be rolled out across all of ACBJ's 40 markets, with the goal of increasing subscribers for the business-oriented newspapers. The initiative includes print, web and e-mail advertising components which promote the referral program, which rewards current subscribers with free issues and new subscribers with discounted subscription fees for each referral that results in a purchase.

Burke is developing the messaging, designing print and online ads, and building a unique web page for the subscriber referral program. All of the elements will be easily adapted for each of ACBJ's local markets to leverage efficiencies in deploying and managing the national campaign.

Jeff Spies, ACBJ's marketing director, said, "Burke Communications has impressed us with their responsiveness, understanding of our goals, and quality and creativity of the marketing materials they designed for our subscriber referral program."

"We have long relied on ACBJ, and particularly the Charlotte Business Journal, for news and information about business developments, as well as opportunities to promote our clients' businesses. We are excited to be launching this national campaign on behalf of such a high-quality organization," said Jack Burke, president of Burke Communications.
